Catalyst LF931 is used in steam pre-reforming of hydrocarbons, such as naphtha, LPG and hydrocarbon-containing dry gas, for the production of methane-rich gases. LF931 takes nickel as its active component and porous compound as its carrier. Under the action of LF961, hydrocarbons cracking and steam reforming reactions take place between hydrocarbons and steam, then the cracked products further take place hydrogenation and carbon oxides methanation reactions, and finally methane-rich gases are produced.
